Which one? Light dubs English subtitles and is a small download. Standard also translates Japanese subtitles on your Mac; it's 4.5 GB and needs a 16 GB Mac or more. Not sure? Start with Light — you can switch later.

Install

1. Open the downloaded .pkg from Downloads. It opens with no warning, because it's signed and approved by Apple.
2. Click Continue → Install → Close. It installs into your home folder only.
3. In Chrome, open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode (top right).
4. Click Load unpacked, press Cmd+Shift+G, type ~/Applications/Momotako/extension, press Return, then click Select.
5. Click the puzzle piece 🧩 and pin Momotako (private test).
6. Log into Crunchyroll in that Chrome, open an episode with English subtitles, click the Momotako icon and press ▶ Start dub. The first start takes about 40 seconds.

Updating from an earlier version? Just install the new version of the same package over it. Then open chrome://extensions and click the reload arrow ↻ on Momotako (private test). That step is required so Chrome loads the new extension.

Install only one package at a time. To switch, open Home → Applications → Momotako and double-click Uninstall Momotako first. Know someone who'd like this? Send them to momotako.com so they can sign up too — that's how we know how many people to expect.
